Deseronto In-Line Ball Hockey and Skating - Summer 2019

The Town of Deseronto is pleased to remind folks of the free play Ball Hockey and In-Line skating - Tuesday August 27th, 2019. Skaters and Players must provide all sticks and equipment, CSA helmets are required. Regular arena rules regarding conduct apply. Nets provided for ball hockey. These are unsupervised recreational activities intended for years 8-13. Children younger than 8 must have parental supervision. As with all recreational activity these are use at your own risk activities.

Tuesday: 5:30-6:30 pm In-Line skating 6:30-7:30 pm Ball Hockey

Location: Arena, Deseronto Community Centre

51 Mechanic St. Deseronto.

Deseronto Roller Skate -Summer 2019 - Start Time Adjustment

Based on the adjusted start time for Ball Hockey, The Town of Deseronto is pleased to announce public Roller Blading/Skating is Tuesday’s, 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm., Tuesday July 30th, ending Tuesday August 27th, 2019. Scooters and hover boards not allowed. Regular arena rules regarding conduct apply and participants will be asked to leave if they are not following the arena rules of behaviour. The arena and the activities will be monitored by staff during this event. This recreational activity is intended for years 8-13. Children younger than 10 must have parental supervision. As with all recreational activities this is a use/play at your own risk activity.

Based on encouraging feedback from parents, The Town of Deseronto is pleased to announce drop-in, pick-up Ball Hockey every Tuesday, 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm., Tuesday July 30, ending Tuesday August 27th, 2019. Players must provide all sticks and equipment, CSA helmets are required. Nets will be provided. Regular arena rules regarding conduct apply and participants will be asked to leave if they are not following the arena rules of behaviour. SPRING CLEAN UP DAY

ONE DAY ONLY  -  SATURDAY MAY 25, 2019

8:00am  -  2:00pm

RAIN OR SHINE

Arctic Gardens Site, Mill and Water Streets

Old Furniture, Household Items, Most Appliances, Yard Waste, Residential Construction and Demolition Materials will be accepted 


Fees:

Small Car or SUV -- $20.00

Pick-Up or Trailer Load -- $40.00 each

Larger Loads - - Priced Accordingly

Leaves and Brush (including tree branches up to a maximum of 6 inches in diameter) will be accepted free of charge.

There will be a charge for ALL other items (No Exceptions)


NOW ACCEPTING E-WASTE (printers, tv's, computer parts) and USED CAR TIRES (maximum of 8 tires per truck load)


MATERIALS NOT ACCEPTED

The following materials will NOT be accepted:

 Household Hazardous Waste, Refrigerators and/or Freezers, Propane Tanks, Air Conditioners and Paint/Paint Cans


NO CURBSIDE PICK UP

There will be NO curbside pick-up.  Participants must make their own arrangements to have the discarded items transported to the Arctic Gardens site.

BBQ AT ARCTIC GARDENS

There will be FREE soft drinks and BBQ hot dogs served at the Arctic Gardens site for residents of Deseronto from 11:30am – 1:00pm on May 25, 2019.  Members of Town Council will be there to greet and serve you!

Notice of a Public Meeting

Notice of a Public Meeting Concerning a Proposed Amendment to the Town of Deseronto Zoning By-law No. 13-93 Removal of HoldingProvision

Please TAKE NOTICE that the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Deseronto will hold a Public meeting on the 8th day of May, 2019 at 6:00 pm at the Deseronto Town Hall located at 331 Main St. Deseronto, Ontario. This Public Meeting will consider an application to amend the Town of Deseronto's Comprehensive Zoning By-law No. 13-93 and is being held in accordance with Section 34 of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, chap. P.13.

Two properties are to be discussed:

Representation

ANY PERSON may attend the public meeting and/or make written or verbal representation either in support of, or in opposition to, the proposed amendment.

THE PLANNING ACT provides for appeals to be filed by "Persons".

Since groups or associations, such as residents or ratepayers groups, whom do not have incorporated status, may not be considered "Persons " for the purposes of the Act, groups wishing to appeal a decision should do so in the name, or names, of individual group members and not in the name of the group.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION relating to the proposed Zoning By-Law amendment is available for inspection, during regular business hours, at the office of the Clerk.

UMPIRES NEEDED

Junior/Intermediate Umpire Clinic:

  • 8:30 am to 2:00 pm for juniors (age 12 to 15)

  • 8:30 am to 4:00 pm for intermediates (age 15-18)

Experienced 15 year old umpires can participate in the intermediate clinic.

Cost: $55 Junior, $65 Intermediate
