Town of Deseronto seeks engaged citizens for the Public Library Board

Deseronto, ON – Municipal libraries are essential to developing strong and creative communities. At the heart of these institutions are Public Library Boards.  Empowered by the Public Libraries Act, Library Boards oversee budgets, set strategic goals, hire senior staff and make the policies and procedures that set out the operations of libraries.

From exciting summer programs for children to senior’s exercise groups, the Deseronto Public Library is a hub of the community.

The Town of Deseronto is currently seeking residents to serve on its Public Library Board.   This opportunity will allow the board to renew and regenerate as it guides Deseronto Public Library into the future.   Any resident who is at least 18 years of age is invited to put forward their name in a letter of application outlining their experiences to Deseronto CAO Ellen Hamel.
